Gravel, Sand, and Soil Products for Drainage
Washington Rock offers a variety of well-draining rock, sand, and soil products.
Round Drain Rock
Our Pea Gravel, 7/8″ Drain Rock, and 1½” Drain Rock are commonly used for drainage and pipe bedding. One customer used our 1½” Drain Rock to create a French drain on a cliffside lawn.

Multi-Purpose Ballast
Ballast is a clean quarried rock product typically used under pavement and downspouts, behind walls, under pavement, and even in French drains. It varies in size and can also be used on slopes for erosion control.
A Bonney Lake customer replaced their soggy lawn with ¾” Ballast.
Gravel Backfill for Drainage
Our Gravel Backfill products are gravelly sand mixes best used behind walls, around pipes, or in trenches.
Permeable Paving Products
Our Permeable Base Course, Permeable Aggregate Top Course, and Permeable Ballast are specifically designed for permeable paving projects and synthetic turf field foundations.
Rain Gardens and Rooftops
Our Bioretention Soil Mix is made for planting areas that need drainage, like rain gardens, bioswales, and rooftop gardens.
Sand for Drainage
Our Utility Sand is a free-draining fill material for bedding pipes and filling trenches.
