A rectangular grass lawn runs from the back of a house to the edge of a fenced yard. A red maple tree can be seen growing next to the fence. Gravel surrounds five raised garden beds made from stacked pavers. A cedar fence surrounds the long, rectangular yard. Chairs on a house's porch can be seen in the foreground. Raised garden beds overflowing with flowers and produce are surrounded by gravel. Stepping stones in the foreground lead to the garden beds, a bird bath, and house's porch in the background. A black lab puppy nibbles on a tomato vine on a gravel surface. A blue bird bath in the foreground rests on a paver surrounded by gravel. The bkacground shows raised garden beds flush with blooming flowers. A house's backyard porch can be seen in the background. Gravel fills the area between the corners of two square stepping stones.

Description

Homeowners removed their soggy lawn and replaced it with crushed clean landscape rock from Washington Rock.

Materials

33 tons of ¾" Clean Gravel

Highlights

The ¾" Clean gravel provided not only a beautiful contrast to the earthy tones of the raised garden beds, but it also provided much-needed drainage for the backyard. Read more about the project in our blog post, "Transforming a Grass Lawn into a Gravel Oasis."
