Round Rock for Dry Creek Beds
Dry creek beds, also known as dry stream beds, can be functional as well as beautiful, offering an attractive drainage solution that can also prevent erosion. We carry a wide a variety of round rock products that can be used to construct dry creek beds.
Dry Creek Bed Materials
Dry creek beds are typically made up of several layers of materials:
- Drain Rock and/or Pea Gravel to create a well-draining base
- Streambed Cobbles (River Rock) to fill in the channel
- Streambed Boulders to create a realistic bank
Most guides suggest filling in the main structure of the creek with a mix of drain rock, pea gravel, and/or river rock. Boulders are typically placed on the perimeter of the dry creek bed and scattered sparingly throughout the channel to imitate a natural stream.
