Highlights
Washington Rock's gravel borrow replaced poor-quality soil on site. Our crushed rock was also used in a vibroflotation machine to build over 1,443 stone columns, each measuring 30" in diameter and 30 feet deep. The Port of Tacoma explained in a social media post: "The columns provide a pathway for groundwater to drain during seismic events, preventing the soil from liquifying. Our base course was then used to create a foundation for building construction.
Additionally, our riprap and streambed rock was used to create a barrier along the shoreline.
