Description
The Thea Foss Waterway Sediment Cap Repair project follows up on a 2006 Superfund cleanup that removed or capped polluted sediment. The City of Tacoma project webpage explains that this project will "help contain remaining contaminants, prevent sediment movement, protect groundwater quality, and support aquatic habitat."Contractor Active Construction explained that the project required working during extreme low tides from the shoreline and from tugs and barges using long stick excavators, cranes, and other equipment.

Highlights
