Landscape Rock
Landscape Rock
Product Description
Half-Man Rocks are quarried landscape stones ranging from 5″ to 12″ in diameter and typically weighing 25–50 pounds each.
Our Landscape Rocks are mined at Kapowsin Quarry. They are also referred to as rockery rock. They differ from our Streambed Boulders in that landscape rock is fractured and angular. Unlike our Streambed Boulders, our landscape rock is only available in our “Kapowsin Blue” (blue-gray) basalt.
We sort our landscape rocks manually to ensure that they comply with WSDOT Standard Specifications 9-03.11(5).
Product Applications
Our quarried landscape rocks can be used in landscaping installations such as water features, rockeries, and rock walls. Landscape rocks can also be used as placement rocks, i.e., sculptural pieces in landscaping.

About Landscape Rock
Our quarried landscape rocks are mined at Kapowsin Quarry, a basalt quarry near Lake Kapowsin in Orting, WA. They are the result of localized blasts that break apart large rock deposits.
According to the FHA, the terms “one man,” “two man,” etc. refer to how many people it would take “to manually move a rock into place using steel pry bars.” Landscape rocks are typically sorted by eye, but they can be measured and marked as needed for commercial projects with specific requirements.
Pricing & Availability
Minimum $35.00 purchase required on all materials. Check pricing and availability by requesting a quote online.
Material Spreading
Prices quoted are for material delivery only. Drivers do their best to dump material evenly when requested. However, Washington Rock cannot guarantee that this will result in an even or desirable distribution of material. Customers must supply the equipment and labor necessary to finish projects.
