Over the weekend, a small group of Washington Rock team members volunteered at the Tacoma Rescue Mission’s family campus kitchen to serve lunch to those in need.
The group included Washington Rock founder Harry Hart, who is a passionate advocate of the Mission. The service project was a great opportunity to kick off a season of giving.
Today Harry sent a letter to friends of Washington Rock Quarries to encourage them to support the Mission or another cause close to their hearts.
“Next year will mark 35 years in business at Washington Rock Quarries,” Harry said in the letter. “Throughout that time, we’ve experienced ups and downs, but we’ve always had hope that we would overcome. And we always have, thanks to your continued support. Because of how we’ve been blessed, our family has developed a passion for and belief in giving back to the community through important organizations like Tacoma Rescue Mission.”
The Tacoma Rescue Mission provides important services to those in need, such as meals, shelter, education and job skills, addiction recovery programs, and more. At this time when record numbers of people are experiencing homelessness, the Mission is doubling the size of the men’s shelter and building a tiny home village in Spanaway.
We invite you to join us in giving back to the community, whether through the Tacoma Rescue Mission or another organization that inspires hope.
