Product Description
¼” Minus is a crushed rock product with a large amount of fines, which allow it to pack down tightly and stay in place when compressed. It is made up of rock pieces up to ¼” in diameter.
¼” Minus is manufactured at Kapowsin Quarry from quarried basalt rock. It is fractured and angular and has a blue-gray color.
Product Applications
¼” Minus is typically used to create well-packing pathways. It can also be used underneath pavers to create a solid base. It can be used in similar ways to decomposed granite.
Similar Products
Compared to ¼” Minus, 3/8″ Minus (8990-3) is a slightly larger, coarser material made with crushed streambed cobbles.

Prices quoted are for material delivery only. Drivers do their best to dump material evenly when requested. However, Washington Rock cannot guarantee that this will result in an even or desirable distribution of material. Customers must supply the equipment and labor necessary to finish projects.

3/8″ Minus is manufactured at King Creek Pit from crushed streambed rock.
Product Applications
3/8″ Minus can be used for decorative pathways and garden borders as well as in between pavers. Compared to ¼” minus, it’s a cleaner and coarser mix. It’s more brown in tone compared to Kapowsin Quarry products.
Similar Products
¼” Minus (9990-1) is a denser product with a smaller maximum gravel size and a larger proportion of fines.
