American Lake Veterans Golf Course recently honored Washington Rock Quarries by including our logo on the tee marker for hole 13.

Superintendent Randy Moen gave a tour of the course to company founder, Harry Hart, before showing him the tee marker and thanking Washington Rock for contributing sand over the years.
Hole 13 is the Legion of Merit hole and one of the signature holes on the course. A tall pine tree in the middle of the fairway forces golfers to choose between an easy but long path to the right or a more challenging path to the left. Randy also presented Harry with a book featuring photographs of courses throughout the U.S., including a photo of hole 13 at American Lake.

Harry emphasized that without the sacrifice of veterans, the freedom to run Washington Rock wouldn’t be possible.
Thank you to the men and women of Washington Rock whose hard work made contributions to American Lake possible, and thank you to those who sacrificed their lives to preserve our freedoms. We’re thrilled that something as small as sand could indirectly bring healing to the veterans who play American Lake.
