Product Description
Class A Foundation Material is a blend of gravelly bank run and round rock up to 2½” in diameter.
It meets WSDOT Standard Specifications 9-03.17 for Class A Foundation Material:
- 98–100% passing the 2½” screen
- 92–100% passing the 2″ screen
- 82–87% passing the 1½” screen
- 27–47% passing the ¾” screen
- 3–14% passing the 3/8″ screen
- 0–5% passing the #4 screen
Product Applications
Class A Foundation Material is commonly used as a structural fill or as a foundation material for paved surfaces like roads and parking lots where the existing subgrade is inadequate.

Upon request, we can make Class B Foundation Material (WSDOT Spec 9-03.17) or Class C Foundation Material (WSDOT Spec 9-03.18).
About Foundation Material
Foundation Material is named for WSDOT-spec aggregates ranging from Class A to Class C. Class A is the most common product we sell. All Foundation Material products consist of a screened bank run sand and round rock 2″ to 2½” or smaller. According to WSDOT, it should be “free from dirt, roots, topsoil, and debris.”

Material Spreading
Prices quoted are for material delivery only. Drivers do their best to dump material evenly when requested. However, Washington Rock cannot guarantee that this will result in an even or desirable distribution of material. Customers must supply the equipment and labor necessary to finish projects.
Minimum Delivery Quantity
