The National Safety Council recommends that your playground fill be at least 12 inches deep.Pea gravel provides good drainage and doesn't need to be replaced as frequently as sand or other playground fillers. Like the name suggests, pea gravel pieces are roughly the size of peas.
If you prefer sand, we suggest Fairway Top Dressing Sand or C-33 Sand. Our Fairway Sand is a finely graded, double-washed product. We use it in our sandbox at promotional events, and it has been popular with parents.
If you're looking for a less expensive product, C-33 Sand is a coarser product that is less likely to track into the house on shoes. Both products are a brown-gray color. We don't currently offer black or white sand.
