- Uses. For mounding and building up areas such as lawns and gardens. Provides excellent drainage.
- Specs. Mined directly from the banks of King Creek Pit. Material over 3/8″ removed. Classified as a sandy loam, which contains a large amount of sand and a little bit of silt and clay. Meets the WSDOT Type A material specification.
- Tips. Also known as Screened Sandy Loam (1060-3). Unscreened Sandy Loam (1051-3) can be used to fill ditches more inexpensively.

- Specs. Free-draining blend of 60% well-graded sand and 40% fine compost. Compost helps retain moisture. Meets City of Seattle design requirements.
- Tips. Can also be used in rain gardens.
